Coloring books for the quiet part of the day
Cozy Tint makes coloring books for the moments between things: a cup of tea after work, a slow Sunday, a winter evening by the lamp. Sweet characters, bold lines, and spaces big enough to enjoy.
We make four kinds of book. Cozy Bold & Easy for relaxed coloring with thick, even lines. Large Print Seasons for big, clear pages that are easy on the eyes. One Pen Monochrome, where a single black pen turns a page of dots into a woodcut picture. And The Snug Bunch, a big, friendly crowd of cute characters in whole cozy scenes.
How a book is made
Each book starts as a plan: fifty designs, chosen so no subject repeats, with the easiest first.
Then every page is measured before it can go into a book. Are there gaps in the outlines? Are the lines heavy enough to print well? How much of the page is in spaces too small to color? Is there any stray lettering? A page that fails is redrawn or replaced, and the whole book is checked again before it is sent to print.
Finally the book is put together the way coloring books should be: every design on its own page with a blank back, a color test page at the front, and an index of the designs at the back.
One design, one page
Every picture has a blank back, so marker bleed lands on a blank page instead of the next design.
Checked for gaps
Every page is checked for gaps in its outlines before it goes to print.
Measured at print size
Line weight and the size of every space are measured at the size the page prints, not on a screen.
Gentle pages first
Books open with their easiest designs, and dots beside each page number show how detailed it is.
A color test page
Try your pens and pencils at the front of the book before you start on a picture.
Fifty designs in each
Every book holds 50 full designs across 110 pages, with an index of the designs at the back.
